Creating a “Dragon of Peace” from Over 20,000 Hand-Holding Photos

— Part of a Lunar Data Delivery Initiative

Astraporta Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Noriaki Inami), a company dedicated to delivering human thoughts and cultural data to space, is pleased to announce that a project in which it participated has been recognized as a world record by an official record certification organization.

In this project, a total of 20,048 photographs were collected,

achieving recognition as

“the largest online photo album of people holding hands.”

A “Dragon of Peace” Created from 20,000 Photographs

This project was carried out in 2025 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Showa era in Japan.

Using photographs collected from around the world of people holding hands, a large-scale mosaic artwork titled:

“The Twin Dragons of Bond (Kizuna no Niryū)”

was created.

The artwork measures approximately 50 meters in length and is inspired by the legendary red and white dragons of Nishikigaura, Atami, Japan.

Each photograph captures a moment where two or more people are holding hands.

Together, these individual images form a single dragon — symbolizing human connection, the bonds that unite us, and the shared aspiration for peace.

Delivering Humanity’s Message to the Moon

Astraporta is currently advancing its core initiative:

“Lunar Data Delivery Project”

This initiative aims to deliver human culture, thoughts, and messages beyond Earth.

The artwork “Kizuna no Niryū” created through this project is scheduled to be preserved and delivered to the lunar surface as a symbol of peace.

This project has been made possible through the collaboration of many participants and stakeholders,

with Astraporta contributing as one of the participating organizations.

Message from CEO Noriaki Inami

“As a future civilian space traveler, I have long dreamed of seeing Earth from space.

From that perspective, there are no borders, no religions, and no conflicts —
only one beautiful and irreplaceable planet, quietly floating in space.

Yet on Earth, division and conflict continue to exist.

Faced with this reality, I have continued to ask myself:
Can humanity truly not become one?

That is why we gathered one of the most fundamental human acts — holding hands — from people all around the world.

Each of these 20,048 photographs carries a life, a story, and a heartfelt connection to someone else.

Space is the stage of humanity’s future.

We are sending this work not merely as art, but as proof —
proof that humanity once chose to connect.

This “Dragon of Peace” represents the will of humanity’s bonds, reaching from Earth into space.

And when I one day see Earth from space,
I may imagine this invisible dragon — gently embracing our planet, wishing for peace.

I sincerely hope that this initiative will inspire people to rediscover the importance of human connection.”
